I have completed many Human Resources Management courses through the University of Calgary’s Adult Continuing Education Faculty. The challenges of having four generations in the workforce and making room for Generation Y’s entrance to the labour market were great writing prompts for me. It was by no small coincidence that I also decided to brush up on my conflict management skills. My work on the dynamics of the
changing face of industry and labour
are my most requested articles for reprints.
Just to round things out I also take the time to brush up on my business management knowledge and skills. Though most would probably find these topics to be fairly dry reading matter, this information is still valuable to owners of all business sizes and types. More importantly this information needs to be presented in a form that is readily available to and easily understood by its intended audiences. In many cases, business information is presented in forms best suited to the mindset of its writer.
It is very frustrating when a white paper is presented when a flyer or brochure will do. Technical jargon is linked to indecipherable references. Or a document is so full of acronyms it reads like an encrypted text message. There has to be a better way to get the message across! There is. I discovered this while on my journey of lifelong learning.
